This was a great craft for the age group I intended- Preschool and Kindergarten. Prep all your materials ahead of time and it should go quite smoothly. Don’t plan on it taking more than 10-15 minutes, although that’s about the extent this particular age group can handle, so it works out well.
Supplies:
-
Newspaper
-
Blue construction paper
-
Plain white paper
-
White finger paint
-
Black marker
-
Scizzors
-
Glue sticks
-
Googly eyes
-
Polar Bear template
-
Sheet of cardstock (if desired)
Directions:
Preparation
- Print out the template on cardstock and cut out the various shapes
- Trace the bear shapes on newspaper and cut out
- Use a black marker to color in ears and draw nose and mouth
- Rip off the bottom section of a white piece of paper approximately 3-4 inches high
Craft
- Have children place a single finger in white paint and dot their snowflakes onto blue construction paper
- Give them the pieces one at a time and explain where they go on the picture- start with the snow, then the base of the bear, etc.
- Have the children use a glue stick to glue each piece onto the paper
- Finish by gluing on the eyes
