This heart magnet craft is fun for both kids and adults alike! My 6-year-old did the orange one and I did the teal ones. With very few materials and no cost if you raid your craft supply stash, this is a fun and cheap way to spend a snowy afternoon.
Items Needed:
Popsicle Sticks, 2 sizes
Newspaper or Paper from old books
Pen or pencil
Hot glue
Craft Paint
Watercolor Paint
Paint Brush
Buttons or String for Accents (Optional)
Magnet strips
Directions:
Step 1: Hot glue the heart frame from Popsicle sticks.
Step 2: Trace the frame onto newspaper or old book paper.
Step 3: Paint the heart frame with craft paint.
Step 4: Paint inside the traced heart with watercolor paint.
Step 5: Let both dry.
Step 6: Wrap frame with decorative string, attaching ends with glue on the back, or apply decorative button. (Optional)
Step 7: Cut the traced heart out of the newspaper or book paper, cutting inside the marked lines about a quarter of an inch so the paper doesn’t go over the edges of the frame.
Step 8: Line the paper up on the back of the frame to make sure it doesn’t stick out the edge, then hot glue in place.
Step 9: Hot glue magnets onto back of heart.
